Press Release for Upcoming Lenard Show

Chauvel Cinema unveils the mind-blowing Cinesthesia cinema sound system in a special lecture/demonstration by Lenard Audio’s John Burnett.

The name Lenard Audio represents one of the world’s most sophisticated engineers of high-fidelity audio technology. The brain-child of John Lenard Burnett, creator of the high powered rock ‘n’ roll amplifier, Lenard Audio is an internationally recognized world leader in audio excellence.

The culmination of twenty years of research and development, Lenard Audio’s “Cinesthesia” cinema sound system is the world’s most advanced cinema sound experience, surpassing even the much vaunted THX system. For the first time there exists a sound system that can bring into existence what you the filmmaker has intended for the audience to experience.

The Chauvel Cinema is proud to be the home of this unique, virtual-reality sound system - the finest cinema sound system on the planet. You can expect an experience of sound that goes way beyond what you could hear in a home cinema system, even with the most sophisticated equipment: Crystal-clear dialogue, incredible detail and dimension - a total immersion in the film’s sound.

But don’t take our word for it. Come and experience Cinesthesia sound for yourself at the Chauvel Cinematheque in a special lecture/demonstration by its creator John Burnett, an event that promises to be a must for audiophiles, cinema buffs and film and audio industry professionals. The event takes place on Saturday the 7th of June at 12 noon, and is repeated on Monday the 9th of June at 6:30pm.

Using excerpts from concert films, trailers from blockbuster movies, CDs and slides, John will demonstrate the capabilities of the system and give you a glimpse of the future of high fidelity audio.

The Lenard cinema sound system has the dynamic power capability of a large concert PA system, coupled with detailed high-fidelity performance that extends beyond most studio monitoring systems. Sound system engineering has traditionally been engineered for simplicity, reliability and cost. This approach has kept the single speaker with added tweeter (known in audio circles as a 2-way system) the mainstay for nearly all sound applications. The Cinesthesia system is a 4 way active system.

In a 4 way active system, the bass, low mids, upper mids, and harmonics all come from separate speaker components, and each driven by its own amplifier from an electronic control system (crossover) that separates the frequencies to each amplifier.

Lenard engineering staff has dedicated themselves to the physics and engineering of 4 way active systems for over 20 years and the Cinesthesia system is the pinnacle of their research and engineering innovation.
